*Congratulations to Tré Day for being awarded the Meterious
Service Award from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
Tré Day is currently raising money to help high school students
right here in Arkansas! All that Arkansas High School students
will have to do is complete an essay contest about the desegregation
crisis of 1957 at Little Rock Central High School. The amount
of students receiving the scholarship will depend on the amount of
money raised. The more money the project receives, the more students
will benefit. If you would like to help in ANY way or apply for the
scholarship yourself, send an e-mail to: treday@everydayallday.com.
Tré will reply with all the detailed information you need. Also,
please continue to check back here for further updates on the project.
Thank you so much for your time and your support. Together
we can keep, "Doing little things to help BIG dreams!"

Feature Article: UALR Office of Development
LITTLE ROCK, AR - The School of Mass
Communication
is pleased to announce that a new scholarship has recently
been established by Tré Day, a 2000 graduate of the UALR
School of Mass Communication. Tré Day, is the popular
host of the Afternoon Drive "Take it to the House" on KIPR,
Power 92. While pursuing his undergraduate degree at UALR,
Tré worked his way up from an internship at Power 92
to the full-time position he now holds.
The name of the scholarship is the TreDay.com Scholarship
Project, and was established to assist Arkansas high school
graduates who are planning to pursue a degree through the School
of Mass Communication at UALR. Funding for this scholarship
is made possible through fund raising events which this year
included a bowling benefit featuring star athletes. One of the things
that sets the scholarship apart from other awards is Tré Day's
desire that students prepare an original audio, video, or print news
story as part of their application process. Topics for stories will
change from year to year and will be available through the School
of Mass Communication. It's particularly wonderful when a
graduate of one of our programs decides to give back by forming
a scholarship, said Dr. Jamie Byrne, Director of the School
of Mass Communication. It speaks very highly of the
School as well as of its students.
