If money is the only object preventing a kid from pursuing or continuing a higher education, then in Tre' Day's eyes it is a disappointment. That is why he started the TreDay.com Scholarship Project in 2002 at his alma mater, the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. There he has found students such as Rudy Aldor, a "Hurricane Katrina Kid," who was thinking about dropping out of school, so he could start working full-time. However, after receiving the TreDay.com Scholarship in 2007 he decided to remain in school and went on to win several awards in the Mass Comm department...graduating soon thereafter. Tre' acknowledges he probably would have joined the Air Force, if it wasn't for a scholarship funding his higher education because he didn't have the means to pay for it himself, so he wanted to return the blessing to this next generation of students and that was how the project was born.
To date, all thanks to you, the TreDay.com fundraising events like the Celebrity Birthday Bowling Bash & the "Labor of Love" Charity Classic (tennis tournament & silent auction) has raised over $75,000 for Arkansas students majoring in Mass Communications at U.A.L.R. Not only have over 20 students received individual scholarships, but Tre' also donated the money which built 2 new audio production rooms in the department for all students to benefit from and use on a daily basis. The scholarship is now endowed at Arkansas-Little Rock, so from this point forward, it will forever be the source of $1,000 scholarships to students for hundreds / thousands of years to come.
Currently, Tre' is working on plans to expand the TreDay.com Scholarship Project even further so that it reaches even more students and further helps encourage their growth through higher education.
